About Hugs for Heads

At just 10 years old, I was introduced to the art of knitting and crochet by my Mémé. I instantly fell in love with the process—watching a simple ball of yarn transform into something beautiful with just a hook or needles felt like magic.

Over the years, my passion for these crafts has only deepened. Each time I sit down to create, it becomes more than a hobby—it’s a therapeutic escape and a meaningful way to connect with others.

In 2023, I launched Hugs for Heads in honor of my dear friend Denise, who bravely battled cancer for years. During her treatment, she struggled to find headwear that made her feel beautiful and confident. So, I made her a hat—soft, stylish, and full of love. When she smiled wearing it, I knew I had created something truly special.

That hat became the original My Denise design.

Hugs for Heads is built around that moment. My goal is to bring comfort, confidence, and handmade beauty to anyone—whether facing illness or simply looking for a unique piece made with care.

A portion of all proceeds is donated to the Cancer Support Fund of Central Mass in loving memory of Denise Downes♡

Thank you for being part of this journey.

I can't wait to show it off!  Round one of your works at the beach and I have not taken it off all day.  From the beach right to dinner!  I got a lot of compliments; you do great work.
